When I first clicked on The Fistula Program website it brought tears to my eyes. This foundation is providing life-changing treatment for women in Ethiopia, Angola, Afghanistan, Somaliland, and the Congo. If you’re not familiar with this most devastating injury of childbirth which was eradicated in western countries over one hundred years ago, you’ll want to explore this site and learn. $598 will pay for surgery and postoperative care for one of thousands of needy women. I know that’s more than $500. It used to cost less. But what can we do? Costs are going up all over the world. I hope YOUR salary has gone up so that you can make this donation. Donate here.
Here’s an opportunity to help with literacy in Guatemala. I love it when a group of people with a common interest team up to do something. If you ride a motorcycle, or even just dream of riding a motorcycle, this one is for you. Check out Two Wheels for Life. They work in Africa where reliable transportation and infrastructure just doesn’t exist for many people. Think about it. Say you have medical supplies and personnel available, but they have no way to get around. This is where this organization can help. A donation of $500 provides all the tools needed to maintain a health worker’s motorcycle for its lifetime.
